Grandchildren, please.

My mother-in-law was here visiting last month, as most of the readers are aware. We have our differences, but there is one thing she can’t fault me for: I gave her two grandchildren. Perhaps the only grandchildren she will have, as the other source is too busy “building her career” to reproduce. Other grandmothers cannot see their grandchildren because of custody disputes.

There is an epidemic of grandkidless older women, but nobody wants to talk about it. If these women could go back, would they again choose feminist policies? Or would they vote for grandkids instead?

And if children (and grandchildren) are so important, why do women insist on putting it last on their list?
