What War On Women?

Only here, in the good ol’ US of A could the political theater reach this level of absurdity.

In a place where women are handed everything and asked for nothing in return, we have liberal pundits declaring a so-called Republican “war on women.”  No, don’t laugh. They’re serious. They honestly believe that the GOP, which uses rabid feminist Sarah Palin as their female standard bearer, is waging a war on women. Okay, go ahead and laugh because I have every time I’ve typed the words, “War on women.”

The latest salvo has come as Mitt Romney has secured his hold on the GOP nomination. A Democratic strategist criticized Ann Romney for her choice to be a stay-at-home mother and she responded by taking to, where else? Twitter. From the NY Times:

Stepping into the middle of a heated debate over how women have fared under President Obama’s economic policies, Ann Romney made her debut on Twitter on Wednesday night — defending her decision to forgo a professional career and raise her five sons at home.

On a day when Obama’s and Mitt Romney’s campaigns battled furiously over whose policies would be more beneficial to women in the workplace, Ann Romney entered the Twittersphere for the first time to respond to comments by Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen, who suggested during a CNN interview that Romney should not be consulting his wife about the plight of women in the workplace.

“Guess what, his wife has actually never worked a day in her life,” Rosen told CNN host Anderson Cooper during a discussion about the back-and-forth between the two campaigns Wednesday. “She’s never really dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing in terms of how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school, and why do we worry about their future.”

And so it begins. The pandering to the career-driven, abortion preferring,  state dependent,  and promiscuous female left in this country. Got to get them out to the polls, you know. There’s nothing left to bribe the gays and the blacks with. Don’t ask, don’t tell  has been repealed, and George Zimmerman has been charged. Time to shore up the next constituency.

It seems to be working at this juncture since Obama has an 18 point lead over Romney when polling women.
