Missing the problem

There’s been a lot of uproar online concerning a certain┬áDesmond Hatchett, who has sired 30 kids by 11 different women. I understand the general concern, but I don’t understand why everyone is missing the biggest problem with this bizarre situation. The strange thing about this situation isn’t the number of children this one man has spawned, but the number of women he’s spawned them with.

The comment threads under articles mentioning his case call for his forced castration (great new power to give the state), but few even wonder what’s gone wrong that has resulted in this many women bearing this man’s children. Even if you castrated him, it wouldn’t make a lick of difference, as some other guy would just pop up and take his place as sperm donor. Cut off the supply of money to these women, and his supply of wombs would immediately dry up.

End court-mandated child support and government benefits for unmarried women.
